Revival of water supply has eased our life

Apsara Karki Sapkota,

Earthquake took away everything not to talk about drinking water facilities. The April 25 disaster destroyed the sources of drinking water and the pipelines that were supplying water to the various villages from Thangpaldhap VDC. Only few taps were in operation compelling us to line up to get the water we needed which was a waste of time. Traditionally Thangpaldhap had no problem of drinking water as there are abundant sources however, we had to live in crisis for few months after the disaster. Now with the support from ARSOW-Nepal well managed Paiyupani Water Tap has been constructed making water easily accessible which has eased our daily life.

As there is 24 hour running water we can use it for drinking, bathing or washing whenever we want. The drinking water project is good example of community partnership as the locals also made voluntary support to make this happen. A similar project is going on in Simpani which is sure to benefit dozens of families from there as well. The two drinking water projects will serve at least 80 families combined directly or indirectly.
