Trying to start new life

Trying to start new life

Jeet Bahadur Waiba,

April 25 last year was a nightmare. In my six decades of life, I had never thought the nature could be so harsh. The disaster took one of my family member, destroyed house, killed cattle while the food grains got buried in the rubble. It took my family over a month to bring the life back in gear due to frequent aftershocks which always added to our fear. Having lost everything we had to rely on the donations not just to join hand and mouth but to construct the temporary shelter as well.

The ARSOW-Nepal team has always stood for us right after the devastation. I got food grains, zinc sheets and blanket. Similarly, I too received seed and got water canal got repaired which eased us for timely plantation this year. Though I am well aware that external support won’t be enough but I am still waiting to get our house reconstructed so that could start a new life forgetting the past as a bad dream.
